Welcome 👦👧boys and girls to another class. Today, we will be going on an adventure where we will be exploring the topic:   How to Prevent Soil Degradation?   Read all given information, watch the video clips and do the activities below. What is soil degradation? Soil degradation means the soil becomes worse in quality — it loses its nutrients, its structure, or its ability to grow plants. In simple words, healthy soil turns into poor soil that cannot support life well. How to Prevent Soil Degradation?  Soil is a precious resource that takes hundreds of years to form. It's like the skin of the Earth, and we need to protect it! Soil degradation means the soil gets worse—it loses its nutrients, gets washed or blown away, or becomes polluted. Here are some simple ways we can all help prevent it:                                               ...

Welcome 👦👧boys and girls to another class. Today, we will be going on an adventure where we will be exploring the topic:  The Causes of Soil Degradation . Read all given information, watch the video clips and do the activities below. What is soil degradation? Soil degradation means the soil becomes worse in quality — it loses its nutrients, its structure, or its ability to grow plants. In simple words, healthy soil turns into poor soil that cannot support life well. What causes soil degradation? 1.      Deforestation – cutting down trees leaves soil exposed to rain and wind. 2.      Overgrazing – too many animals eat all the grass, so soil has no cover. 3.      Overcropping / poor farming – growing crops on the same land again and again takes out nutrients. 4.      Erosion by wind and water – the topsoil (the best layer) is blown or washed away. 5.      Use ...

Welcome 👦👧boys and girls to another class. Today, we will be going on an adventure where we will be exploring the topic:  Ways to Reduce Climate Change . Read all given information, watch the video clips and do the activities below. Climate is the usual weather pattern of a place over a long time — many years. It tells us what the weather is normally like (hot, cold, wet, dry). Climate Change: Climate change means the Earth's usual weather patterns are changing over time — mainly because human activities release too many gases that trap heat in the air, making the planet warmer. Actions That Help Reduce Climate Change: Walk, bike, or take the bus instead of riding in cars Turn off lights and electronics when not in use (save electricity) Plant trees and protect forests Reduce, reuse, and recycle Use less plastic and avoid wasting food Eat more local foods and less meat Use renewable energy like solar and wind power ...
